This is my preliminary review and benchmark of AbeloHost which I will be reviewing for the next three months, or possibly further. I am on their SSD KVM Pro v2 plan which consists of the following specifications:
- 2GB RAM Memory
- Xeon E5-2650 v2 @ 2.60GHz (2 Core)
- 25GB SSD (RAID 10)
- DDoS protection
The KVM is located in Netterden (NL) and for control panel they provide you with OnAPP’s SolusVM. The ping to my residential connection here in Scandinavia is very good — 31.7 ms on average. That’s surprisingly good.
The IP assigned for my KVM isn’t listed in any RBLs, none of the major ones. All checks passes on it — alas, it’s clean.
These tests (and more later on, including data from external monitoring) will be cobbled together so that it makes more sense. This is only a preliminary review to get a general idea of the service. I will actually be running several production applications on this instance (both Node.js based). I will edit this post and produce a proper report once I have more data.
